Matthew R. Barton, CPA
As partner, Matt is primarily responsible for all accounting and tax activities within the firm. This includes small business & tax consulting, tax planning for individuals and other financial & strategic planning for clients.
Matt manages a diversified client base and seeks to use his good relationships with his clients and their advisors to help them achieve their financial goals.
Matt is a graduate of Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina where he received his BBA in Accounting while serving in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune.
Matt lives in Evanston with his wife and three young daughters. He is an active member of the Beth Emet Synagogue. Matt is active with AYSO as a coach and with Curts Café as a volunteer.
Mary Stavropoulos, CPA
Mary Stavropoulos is a registered Certified Public Accountant who joined Weinberg, Barton and Company in 2015. Mary earned a Bacherlors Degree in Accounting from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. Her previous work experience was in the Banking Industry.
Mary and her husband have four children. She enjoys cooking/baking and traveling with her family.
Jerry Rice, CPA
Jerry has over 30 years of experience dealing with a wide range of accounting & tax situations. Jerry joined the firm in 2016 when his former partner merged with WBC and has been a great addition to the staff. He has made the merger process seamless with his extensive background and knowledge in dealing with the firm’s newest client base. Jerry lives in Chicago with his wife and young grandson.
Simona Nitu
Simona joined the firm in 2017 and brings a wide range of talents. Simona is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University where she received the High Academic Achievement certificate of recognition. Her background includes working with banking, real estate & retail clients and is an expert in QuickBooks desktop and online versions. She is fluent in Romanian and conversational in Spanish. Simona lives in Skokie with her husband and 1-year old son.
Frederick A. Weinberg
Fred founded Frederick A. Weinberg & Company back in 1977 and prior to that had been working for various local firms on the north shore. Fred brings over 40 years of experience to the firm and continues to be an invaluable asset and resource.
Fred is a graduate of Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois. He currently resides in Mundelein where he enjoys boating and motorcycling.
